I don't pop rocks to see what's in them!

I do it to get under them.  Move them out of my way! Wise

Yes you can find Gold were You find Pyrites.

Cypress mines here in Deming shipped Pyrites down from P.A. New Mexico and was getting 1/4 oz per yard out of it.

Yes, you CAN find gold and pyrites in the same place but it's not really all that common. Just because it happened once doesn't mean that the two go hand in hand. It is VERY unlikely to find them in the same location unless the gold is alluvial. I never said it was impossible. Only unlikely.

See, he's looking at gold possibly being in a hard rock with pyrites in the rock. I stand by my statements. This isn't alluvial gold.

I also still maintain that he will never forget his decision if he doesn't take a peek inside. If he had never asked the question, I would advise to just move on and leave the rock alone.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

The water has been really slow to drop here as well this year due to extra rain. Thanks for the update, hope you find something in your concentrates.
