I have an area with a lot of gold but mechanical dredging is not allowed. I have already bought a gold and sand hand pump. Is there anything else out there I can use? Undecided

Define "MECHANICAL"

Motorized?

Gas?

What about a Hand Fed Sluice!

Good advice. There are quite a few plans on line for home built sluice boxes. Even one made with plastic rain gutter.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

What I was really looking for was fresh ideas on how to get the gold off the river bottom faster than a sand u gold hand pump. I have no idea what it might be. That is why I threw the question out to you guys. Sorry for the confusion. But you are correct, I do have a sluice box.

Yep!  Kiss

If you have a Desert Fox, or any wheel like that, you can set it more horizontal and it will concentrate, instead of clean... you will have to screen everything, going into it, to about 1/4 inch, but is should work, maybe not as good as the BIG wheels, but you must realize, a trommel works on the same principal even though it is cylindrical, and has a built in screen. If you can afford it, a small trommel should be a touch better.

I have a strem that I am working that has enough drop that you don't drop anything, like a pan or snuffer bottle, unless you like mountain climbing. Any why I am going to get a goodly length, say 25 feet of the hose the use on wet dry vacs. fill it with water put the top end under a rook in the sand then drop the oter end over the fall my only problem is ging to be controling the flow thru the sluce and securing it. I figure I can use a snorkle and face mast as the water is only 3 feet or so. I will take some photos if I get it working
