Hi guys, been reading your thread here and find it all interesting. Waulespan, sound like you found nearly heaven.  But if you dislodge the wrong rock it could easily be hell!  Show us a picture of the biggest nugget ever found in UK when you and Ridge Runner locate it. You forget to mention the easy chair to add to the pack to get in there!

Hey, Gramps!  How was your trip to La Grande in June?  You've been a busy boy despite your bursitis and shoulder problems, getting out along the rivers of "Rainy Oregon."  Good luck with the VA doc.

You guys take care and keep talking here.   Detecting

Arfie,

Trip went off without a hitch, it was warm, daughter got her degree and all had a good time.  Stopped at an Indian Casino for late lunch, lots of foolish people pouring lots of money down a hole hoping to hit the jackpot, what a waste and the food wasn't all that whoopie either.

I go over to the VA Sept. 15 to see my primary care doc then he will probably refer me on to Ortho. which means another month of pain and unproductiveness.  I'm going to get out as much as I can but I don't think I'll be climbing any mountains with my knee or swinging a pick with my shoulder but I can still pan and use a sluice.

Brian,

Have the police put out a warrant for your "lodger."  Hopefully he hasn't ditched all of the evidence and thus gets away with his dirty deed.

Youse guys take care,

Gramps

Hi folks
Got the van back today, Powys bound on Sunday. Police found one fresh fingerprint on the broken steering column, so maybe when I told my now ex-lodger this it spooked him. He phoned me last night, saying he would be see me in the evening, but he didn't turn up, yet again. I think he is just waiting for me to get fed up waiting, so he can break in. I haven't told him yet that all his stuff is in the shed and that his vital documents are going to be buried until I get my valuables back. So one of my honest tenants will be staying there as a house minder for a few weeks. The lesson for me from this incident is not to stop trusting everybody, that would give the victory to thieves.
I will post a pic of my first Powys nugget ok.

Good luck up at the Powys, Brian.  And good luck with the ex-lodger.  That is a true bummer.  I'm looking forward to seeing your Powys nuggets when you get back.

Gramps, take care of yourself and good luck with the VA!

Thanks Ridge Gramps and Arfie. Just need new back brakes fitted tomorrow and I'm off on Weds. Just had it confirmed today that this secret location isn't registered with the Land Registry, so there is no known owner. Who would want to register such a wet piece of hillside anyway? It's no good for sheep, only adventurers like us.
All keep safe now.
Brian

Brian,

Cool beans on the land being unregistered, hope you find something good whether it be gold, gems or evidence of long ago previous inhabitants.

Take good care,
Gramps

Best of Luck Waulespan, I do not hunt gold (yet) so I like to live vicariously through other adventurers like you.
I await pictures of your latest finds, return safely with lots of nuggets.  HH Robroy59
