Hello Idaho Jones.

The problem I have with that explanation is that a mechanical tracked submarine vehicle would give off a loud acoustic noise signature like a rock and roll concert to modern Anti submarine warfare vessels. I just do not have an explanation of what their perpose would of been?

Perhaps these underwater  tracked vehicles was an experimental project during the cold War? A concept of remote controlled underwater vehicles to act as an atomic underwater mine to be placed in tactical areas for detonation under Swedish naval forces?

A real mystery?

Has these events ever be plotted on a map?

Hardluck

Hi,

I understand how you’re thinking Idaho Jones, but a sonar is much more than a radar (like the pinging in a submarine), as it also can be used passively to pick up sound. I have had the opportunity to use a military sonar system, and I know it is a very sensitive device. When listening to a ship, you can not only hear how many propellers it has, but also how many blades each propeller has. With some computer guidance it’s also possible to hear small defects of the propellers which can be stored to a database and later be used to match a sound with a specific ship. So I think Hardluck is right about the caterpillar track making the ‘rock concert’. =)

My best guess is that the use for such a machine must be to construct something under water. Like that cable placer one. If the tracks actually were made by military forces is another question..

Hello Cpt

Excellent point. The question that intrigues me is if these alleged underwater tracked vehicles was used to construct some thing in secret, what was they trying to construct?

Good point, I wasn't really thinking correctly. It will be interesting to be sure whatever the answer. Hopefully we hear what they find and this doesn't just fade away.  Smiley
