Found this coin and others that were in an even worst state to this one, unfortunately the soil here in Belgium has a high acidity content and so far all the coins that I have found here are in a really bad state.

The last one's condition is comparable to the clad pennies I  find here in the park. Such a waste.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Major difference is that Xavier's coin is between 70 and 80 years old and those "clad" cents you find in the park are usually in that condition after 2 or 3 years.

Yep, even a bigger waste. I have over 500 that are worthless.

That's what you get for having really fertile soil with lots of decomposing organic material in it.  (But then you also get some huge strawberries and other fantastic edible goodies).

Yep the forest has quite a lot of berries and of coarse loads of decomposing leaves all year round. All I know is the day that I find a good looking coin it will either be a new coin or a gold coin and of course I would prefer the later  Cheesy

Look for leaf piles under trees in the park. If the park has been there for a long time, it is a great place to look for coins. People love to frolic in leaf piles. Good place to find coins. Works here.

Carl me mate this is not a park it's a forest, it was used during WW2 by the Germans and the allies many dangers lye in the ground. I found hundreds of .303 bullets there and a trench that is littered with bad stuff.

Well, just in the parks then, if there is any. Never been to Belgium or Brussels. Just seen pictures in documentaries, so I  know their is a lot of history there. Good and bad. On a scale of 1 to 10, and not comparing it to anywhere else, how would you rate living there? Just curious.
