GD. Yes, that is the classic grape shot photo. The navy was fond of it for ripping the rigging of sailing ships to shreads. I'm sure there were other versions as well.

xavier, I looked at the picture of the coastal dune you are hunting. This looks similar to the terrain I hunt here in florida though here the vegitation is green. The difference may be latitude. I like hunting dry sandy areas no grass and few roots makes recovery easy. I have a special digger for sandy areas. It is shaped like a sugar scoop.

The place is normally green here too but we had a fire that swept though the area looks bad but had that fire not been I would not have even thought of detecting in that area as the vegetation is too dense. That scoop looks quite practical I really have to make one and spare the finger tips from cuts caused by sea shells and other sharp objects.

All the best
Xavier

Well you wouldn't like them Camels much if you had one LOL they were all over the place in Mauritania BIG poop too LOL
I went to the beach at low tide this morning to collect lead sinkers and got 2.2Kg of them when my detector decided to stop working so had to come home. I immediately opened it up and found that a drop of seawater got on the board dried and made a salt crystal just between two tracks well that was enough to bring my detector to a halt a stupid salt crystal I could not believe it at first as soon as I removed it the detector works like a charm now to find water proof housings don’t want this happening again.
