Go Up Go Down

So my wife has put up no trespassing signs for me in our front yard.  She gave me full run of metal detecting the backyard, but not the front yard.  Mainly because she doesn't want me to tear up the front.  However, I have gotten much better at retrieving items now........soooooo

over the weekend we tore out an old bush that has been in our yard since the house was built in the 60's.  We had a 8' round circle of dirt in our yard, so I figured yesterday since the wife was gone, what better time to detect in the front yard where the bush was.  All I found was some bottle caps, pull tabs and oddly enough a gardening shovel. On the way back to the garage, I kept the detector going.  I got a really strong signal 3" down in the ground, so I marked it with a leaf.  I then walked another foot and found 2 more strong signals just under the surface, so I marked them with gumballs from our sweet gum tree.  See, those gumballs are good for something.  Rather than mark more spots and have the yard dug up all over, I then turned the detector off and put it in the garage.  I went back to the spots I marked and carefully dug them up.  The first hole yielded a 1964 Silver Dime, the second hole had a 1966 Dime and the third hole, a 1944 Wheatie.

So now, guess who is dieing to did up the front yard....oh yeah, this guy!

The plan is, I'll wait a couple weeks, show the wife how you can't even tell where I dug, and then I'll get my wish!

Luke

good job....good plan.   The only thing better would have been if you had found a ring or necklace pendant to bribe her with.

Jewelry would be nice.....she's a sucker for that sort of thing.  She hasn't been impressed by the pull tab I made into a necklace for her, lol

that's what my boss says...of course it seems like he always teaches that it's easier to be underpaid than it is to ask for a raise as well.
