does anyone know what the copper things are in the last 2 pics? the first in that row is a .45 casing I put in for size reference. The "casing" in the middle had something like gun powder in it when I found it and has 2 chambers inside. The larger copper thing with the rivet......no clue wth that is. More pics and I'll explain whats all in the first pic

different view of those copper things, and anyone know what that thing is in the last pic? its silver plated and that center disk hinges from the top of it.

The large gold chain says 14k on the hasp but looks plated and isnt heavy enough to be gold. The knife must have been a recent drop, no rust and barely under the dirt when I found it. The 2 rings....the smaller one says 18k but its plated, and the larger one has no hallmark so I dont know what metal it is. The golden nugget pendant is double sided and great shape. The belt buckle is brass and great shape, looks old but I dont know, found that along the river so could be very old. 2 toy guns, the large rosette looking thing was gold plated but half of it is gone ( I cleaned the back of it, not the front yet). Found 12 quarters and 9 dimes along with 18 pennies in one hole at an old house, but none were silver, the newest was 1992 oldest was 1965. The butter dish has all the pennies in it. Found 5 wheaties, oldest was 1911. Check out the pic of the rings, I found a zinc penny someone had cut a cross into about 6 feet from the large ring with the crosses around it lol. The bottom of the first pic is a bunch of lead blobs and shell casings from the same house. The large ball is a plated copper and heavy as hell.

You're having WAY too much fun Grin
I'm going to guess the ring with the swingy thing might have been a sprinkler deflector?
The pointy things on the bottom look like they would mount in springs?
The plate in the middle would spin from an oncoming stream of water.
Can't come up with any other logical purpose Idea
Soon you'll need a warehouse for all your finds Shocked

LOL! thanks, I just go where there's stuff to find, and stay away from places where there isnt anything. After doing this a time or two, I can tell the difference quickly.   Wise   but the silver thing is actually silver plated brass, I dont imagine they would do that to a sprinkler? Kind of looks like something you'd see in a doctors office, you know ....one of their torture treatments? a toe and thumb pulleroffer? Maybe they keep it handy next to their saw collections? Maybe Lorena Bobit's new invention?  Mad I found that at a house on a major highway thats very old, and within 20 feet of the road. That larger copper thing has me baffled too, I found that under a road thats being torn up in one of the oldest areas of town. I had that on electrolysis a very long time after boiling that thing for about an hour. Had to wire brush it just to see what you see there. They got the sidewalks busted up now but havent removed the slabs yet. I'm going to hit those asap when they gettum outa there! Earlier this year at a house along there I found an old indian head  Rider

Really got me goin on the strange ring thing.
Looking at the tabs on the "bottom" I think I can see regular spaced marks from a spring? The tabs look like the typical spring mount type.
How about some more pics of that thing...can't wait til someone ID's it Cool

Some of the less collectible, yet still cool looking stuff could be made into a cool looking jacket or something! haha.

No, not one day, 5 days, probably a total of 20 hours? Just went out when I had time for a few hours at a time.
