Great job Whitetail- older schools are neat hunting ! The old lodge seems to be another interesting site. I think you are on to something around that building. Old bars/beerjoints seem to have treasures outside just waiting to be found.

I almost forgot ! Don't forget the football, baseball, and soccer fields near the schools. The bleachers etc. nearly always holds treasures underneath.

how old is  the school I have some around here built in early 1900's and they have lots of good stuff in the ground.

the one i am wanting to check out first was built in 1907, no longer used as a scholl but a recreation facilty, with basketball and tennis courts around it, what do you think?

I live about a block from a tot lot where my wife wet to elementry school some 55 yrs ago. It must have been hit by MD'ers a lot because I have found several clad quarters and that is all. I took a friend with me and he found nada!!!  Cry  Coffee

metal detecting is a adventure, somedays its more fresh air and nature, then there the days, the detector seems to sing and the finds are good.

I made a special trip back to my old home town to detect at my old elementary school, and found absolutely nothing!  As old as that school is, I just don't get it.  Someone else must have already worked it over, that's the only explanation I can come up with... Sad
