OK so now for the latest events I got the parcel at 13h00 then at 17h00 started to get all the stuff that I needed to put it all together and at 18h40 I was testing it with a coil from one of my PI detectors (wrong coil but so what good enough for testing) and it works no problem only thing that I still need to figure out is how to connect the uA meter to it I figured out the battery test.

I know I'll never grow up life's to damn short. I have a small amp that I use on all my detectors goes from 20 gain to 200 gain I will put it on this detector as we do not use head phones in SA

So I did good with all those Price Tags and lables?

Just us the Audio to drive the Meter.

Limiting R and all should work well.

This should get you in the Cricket Park.

The surf pi is quite forgiving in its coil specs. I have tried everything from 20 to 30 turns between 8 and 10 inches.

I have now settled on:
21 turns
0.4 mm enamelled copper magnet wire
9.75 inches
Mylar shield

Using:
IRF9460
390 ohm damping

Was easy with them labels. All I had to do was get all the stuff together. Tomorrow I'll put it in a box and make a shaft up for it then I'll have to go to my supplier and get some 0.4mm magnet wire for the coil.

I'm always like a kid in a china.... I mean candy shop except when I get mad then I'm like a bull in a candy..... I mean china shop (will I ever get this right LOL )
When the detector is finished I'll let one of my guys use it to go detecting with us (I want to start a small detecting club) will you believe that this guy (Black) has a university entrance diploma but dose not know what is the capital of the UK any ways to cut a long story short I'm Planing to start a school too (small)
