X, I think you need to find other coils and get the coil ratio's and stick to that.... The big companies pay lots of money to perfect their coils  Great Also remember any shielding  Idea

Sorry to hear that, maybe you are on to something with the L/L ratios.

Pgill, I'm glad the deal is coming along. Kind of sad though that you are leaving sunny S.A. to go to balmy England. S.A. won't be the same without you. Rider

Karl, X is the one who has his hand full  Toilet he just never behaves  Wise Gambol, at least when I leave they will still have X to keep the country afloat  Great but it is not going to be a easy move, but it will be a necessary move for us for lots of GOOD reasons.... for some reason, X seems to think I am mad, I think he is just saying that because he is going to miss me  Kiss Kiss Kiss X for President  Grin Grin

Damn right Gambol1 it'll be a far better place. Suicide rate will probably drop by 60% once he's gone

I use the same gauge wire (Most do) my inductance will go for a loop now what happens to the LC circuit? I mean I wont have the same resonant frequency now will I?

Exactly why I told you that to maintain your inductance, you must change your wire diameter. Your assumption that "most do" is incorrect. Only DIY folks who don't design for a living do that. Engineers will change the wire diameter but not necessarily the RX coil diameter to maintain the proper LC. On that same subject, the receiver coil is normally a different size to prevent an overlay and possible inductive coupling with the transmit coil. In the DIY world, close enough is good enough. In reality, perfection in operation relies on 100% attention to proper design.

Wire Diameter plays with Inductance as well doesn't it?

DC Current, Battery Use, Coil Size?

With a few more winds you can keep the Inductance the same for sure but you loose some Current and maybe coil size.

Induced Target Response is still there.

What I don't understand is why tune the Receive coil off by a few hundred hurts to make more phase change.    Couldn't you detect the change from Zero Phase as Well?
