My theory on pull tabs is that wherever people have relaxed and dropped them, they have also dropped the goodies we all want to find. The older the tab looks, the more likely you will find something rare and special. Pull tabs are good. Very good.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

AU, I will keep an eye out on my readings for you  Great I must admit though, we do not have that much of an issue... just a couple of real problem sites....

GD, I have to agree with you about keeping an eye out for old pull-tabs, as that is where the good stuff is  Kiss

BA that chart is nice and a great idea.... umm maybe I can make a chart up of SA tabs  Wise

Goldnboy, I have a jar full of the things  Shocked I could start my own business  Rider

Xavier, you are not playing nicely my friend.... I will get you counting sheep again  Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep Sheep

Ok now for some very serious stuff  Shocked I have looked through all my pull-tabs and can only find 2 different types of rings, and 2 different types of tabs....  Angry I do not think we have had that many different types in this country  Wise Very strange  Idea

{alt}

I am getting worried that we have so few here in SA, there has to be some serious reason for this  Idea

Umm Viking has run away from us  Grin But that video is from a guy in Italy.... very nice video.....

AU, The tabs are all aluminium, so I guess would ring quite high.... I seem to remember that early tabs were steel with a coating to stop rust.... Maybe those tabs would rust away with time.... Mixing them up with hammered is a big problem.... But remember that pulltab = Gold also.....
