you just made me think of a hunting possibility by saying that.  here in Utah, and entire town was abandoned and became a ghost town because a landside came in and took out some of it and then dammed the river, flooding the town.  some of the buildings are are still under water, but others have dried out.  man i wonder if i might find something around there

That definitely would be something you should check out especially if the town has a lengthy history.

Did you find these in close proximity to each other or were they spread out?

What a little treasure you've found!

You beat me!
At the fairgrounds in Caledonia, MN I found 17 quarters in one pile (at the corner of a carnival booth) in about 8 minutes and on another trip I found 32 dimes in a row where they must have been pitching dimes into a dish or something.

I was at a park over a month ago and kept finding quarters, one after another a total of 32.
I realized later that where I found them was once a pond  they had removed the pond
and put grass in it, the bridge is still there but I didn't notice I was to busy staring at the ground.   Cool
