Hi everyone.......I'm new to the board so here goes my story. Today and yesterday my hunting buddy and myself hunted a beach area in Virginia on the Potomac river. In about five hours of hunting we recovered 71 silver half dollars, most of which were dated from the late 1930s to the early 1940s. One was a 1903 barber type. Both of us were using Minelab detectors, my friends is an Explorer 11 and mine is a Explorer se pro. The area we worked was loaded with nails and other debree, but despite the conditions the Minelab detectors
were able to pick the coins out from all the trash with it's Iron Mask feature. The signals were somewhat broken at times but constant. This is my second Minelab detector, my first
is a Sovereign xs which I still have and works well. No pictures at this time. John in Virginia.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
