After a year more of research and reading about Doc I am going back to my first theory. That Doc found some treasure in the Cabello's moved a small amount to the VP. Remember the first bar he tried to sale he said came from the Cabello's. Doc played close to the vest and never even told Ova what was going on. No one ever saw more then 2 or 3 bars at one time not 50 or 60 like some writers have reported. I have seen the sword and 2 goblets that were said to have came from Doc who knows. I got a 200 year old bowie knife I can clam came from the Alamo and used by Jimmy himself of course it didn't but you see where I am going with that. Without documentation and eye witness reports all we have in Ova story and that is it. Remember Doc meet Ova while she was playing piano in a bar and entertainer and she entertained the world for along time with a few trinkets and some wild stories.
Never was any gold at Victoria Peak but for what little Doc had cashed there. The treasure writers conspiracy freaks and Mrs Ova took a little story and made a mountain.
No guy its back to the Cabello's unless new never seen info comes to light.

Hello All

Seldom makes a good point.

Like all treasure stories rumor and innuendo take over an become the legends we hear to day.

There are many WSMR personnel claiming inside knowledge of the events around the base. The following documents claims to give an history of events in regards to legal battle for access to the site and the events long after Noss's death.

These documents was released around 2007 when there was push by the remaining interested parties were encouraged to meet and form a group to lobby for access to the peak.

 What become of this I was not privy to?

Those are some interesting docs Hardluck. Thanks for sharing them Smiley

I'm pretty much in the same camp as seldom in thinking that Victorio was a ruse to hide the real location in the cabellos. However the fact that Fiege was so determined makes me wonder if he really did see that room. Also why were treasury agents involved and why did anyone need permission from the director of the mint for anything? That's a real puzzler to me.

As far as I know it is all BLM land, and the Las Cruces BLM office is responsible for the area many people may be referring to here.

The US Government stole the Gold that Ova had a right to.  LBJ could have been involved sure, but it goes much further than just the Vice President of the USA.  Perhaps there are a few Gold bars hidden near VP by Doc Noss before he was gunned down but who knows?  We will never know what happened to the Gold after the feds took it.  All this pointing to the Caballo Mtns is a way to throw us off track.

It is not rocket science, just connect the dots...  Look at the photos Ova had of the government working covertly to get the Gold out and even at night with a huge assortment of heavy equipment.  These photos were part of her very just argument with the crafty government steeling her Gold while everyones back was turned.

There is work being done on base's all over the world, this picture proves that and only that. First there is no proof that gold was ever there second there is no proof that the government stole it. Like all your post that say little but bust your own conspiracy theory. Show us some facts.

lots of people have very strange ways of connecting lots of dots......doesn't make them right.  Especially since "connecting the  dots" usually involves large leaps of faith or cherry picking facts.
