Hi Johnnn, thats what I was thinking too, Ill have to check out pictures of wagon wheels. This area is the home of the famous Conestoga wagon, and I am also in Amish country, thanks Johnn.

Yeah a collar or Ferrel that was fastened to a round piece of wood.  Maybe this is all that is left of the shovel that was used to retrieve the treasure chest long ago.
