yes the thisle is a scottish emblem --- its said that a group of invaders trying to land on scottish shores at night once stepped on a thisle and yepped -- alerting the scottish guards --and saving the battle for the scots --- that looks like a cap badge as others have said -- looks silverish and is most likely modern due to its great shape .
