RO, so if there was such treasure which i not convinced there was then maybe just a few Tea chest size cases is more the reality
and not 30x30ft rooms as alot of our members seem to think, and that would be possible,

Hey Au, the bigger the fish the better  Cool The Japanese had limited gold of their own so I'm thinking the more gold and other treasures that they could get the better for their war efforts. Plundering is the usual thing to do during war. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a lot more than a couple of chest. I was thinking earlier about this. Some sort of inventory would be nice.

We all agree that some treasure was hide in the Philippines during during WW II but in what amounts is the question.
I like goldenboys ideal about Japanese renegade generals, several 100 caches of a few 100 pounds of gold make more sense then 5 or 6 caches of several tons each.  Isn't that the Germans did? How many German officers ended up in third world country's with a enough money to start over but not millions and millions of dollars.

I think the Japanese would be more loyal to their country and cause than say the Germans, but in saying that war will do strange things to a man. In saying that I think your post makes sense Seldom. Perhaps Japanese diary's or letters sent back to home would be the treasure hunters best chance  Cool

What got me thing about it that way was our friends in the Philippines are always talking about Japaneses nosing around their property. Maybe the Japaneses are looking for personal cache left by a grandfather or other family member.

You maybe so right about that, but war and greed do strange things to the human mine.
