It looks like freshly polished brass. Notice the finite scratches on it?  I would use the density weight test using a bucket of water before I would go further.  I have a brass bar here at home. But it's imprinted with Cambodia. Be careful and don't bring any money with you unless you can afford to lose it.

It doesn't look like it fell out of a mold but was engraved and stamped.

Attached is my toe stubber / door stop.  I'll shine it up and show you what it looks like.

Com1diver, You have busted a possible myth,

That thing would break a Toe or Two, I think the wife would throw it at me if she kicked that thing,

it did come up very nice did'nt it.
