I noticed that with gold and silver both. You'll see the name of a company and .999 silver cast in the bullion and then a stamp of the actual weight on the larger bars. I noticed the small stuff you can buy now like 1 gram and up, the weight is cast into it. I guess technology allows them to cast that exact now compared to earlier.
