Hello all

Hopefully the newspaper images will post this time. Here are some newspaper dating around the turn of 18th-20 century. Reports back then was of wild hairy men or Apes. There are no Apes or bears in Australia. No terms Yowie or Bigfoot used. These reports were from the days before it was fashionable to see them.

Some of the following stories perhaps could be explained, other reports are a little more intriguing.

But please judge for yourself.

Very interesting. I have read hypothesis that "bigfoot" sightings only began in the U.S. during the 20th century. I just smile. The Yuroks of N. CA use to tell kids that if they were bad, they would leave them in the woods for "Susquash". (Bigfoot.) And that was long before the white man showed up in California. (Well over 400 years ago.)

Bigfoot(s) have been reported in just about every state in the U.S. including Florida. This is the first time I've heard of them "down-under" though.

Thanks for the info.

Hello LkyEgl

Even in Australia the Aboriginals various tribes had names for them. The name adopted by modern Australia is Yowie.

There are old reports allegedly colonial secretaries records. But I  have not found them as yet.

Glad they're still around. I've seen many strange and unusual things in my life. I figure I only have a couple of things left to see; Big Foot and a Horse fly.  Cheesy

I think I'll keep my eyes open for Big Foot! Shocked

Just kidding of course. Count me in as a believer.
