Go Up Go Down

I have always wondered about dowsing, whether it really works or not. I've read a little bit about it with conflicting stories, some swear by it and some say it's an old wives tale. I guess my question is does it really work? If so, are there places or conditions when it works better or areas where it's lest likely to work. I've given thought to trying it myself at some point but don't where to begin. What tools do I need, where do you get the rods or how do you make them, that sort of thing. What's the opinion here on the forum, I'd really be interested in what everyone has to say, good or bad.

I was a maintenance man at a large apt. complex and we had five buildings stopped up and you can imagine what some of the carpets smelled like. We had a plumbing crew come out and had the backhoes ready at one set of buildings(the plans showed the cleanout to have been originally there). They weren't having any luck and I jokingly grabbed a forked limb I saw on the ground and said "I'll find it!" After walking 10', to my amazement the fork shot down towards the ground, tearing the bark and nearly cutting my hand! The other maintenace guy said"You don't really believe.... and shoved a sharpshooter in the ground and heard a loud "clank". About 6" under the ground was the cleanout exactly where the fork went down. I don't know who was the most surprised.

Yes Outback, dowsing does work. Attached is a picture of just a few pendulums that I made for a firm in Az. Three people making an average of 200 pendulums a week each for over five years, you do the math. If dowsing did not work, why would Stanford Research Int. send a team all the way to the Fla. Keys to test my map dowsing skills?

I said dowsing works, but I never said ANY LARGE, UNKNOWN, LOST OR BURIED TREASURE has ever been found by dowsing or the use of any long range locating instruments. Dowsing works!!! I have been a successful treasure finder for over 44 years. I have used every kind of detecting equipment that made it to market, including Aquapulse, Minelab, Whites, Fisher metal detectors . Barringer, Aquascan, E. G.& G., Simtrex magnetometers, and side scan sonar as well. Dowsing works, but not for locating unknown treasure.

Yeah, that's the problem. And you look kinda mystical and weird testing the things at say a school ground. Shocked After the success I had on a non-treasure item, I guess I need  to get out when noone's around and try it at a school. Will keep posted. Cool

I too have seen dowsing work. The local water company actually uses two copper rods bent into an L to find some of their water lines. So much technologically advanced civilization.LOL
