Dowsing does not work It's been proven not to work thousands of times and proven to work never.

You call that (over here anyway) Dig down far enough and you'll hit the water table.
My Grandad used to do it for local farmers for a pint or two at the pub.
I asked him to teach me........ his words:
"Don't be silly.... it doesn't work.... Dig down far enough and you'll hit the water table.
Just wave the stick around a bit and get them to dig a hole... the water table's only 20 or so feet down around here...."

So Paul help me understand your reply. They would wave a stick ( pretend to dowse ) then dig a hole in a random spot and find water( digging down to the water table)? If that is true that would make the earth have a layer of water ( like an onion)completely surrounding the earth?

Well, that settles it for me. It has to work. Dell says it does. No proof, though. Just Dell's declaration.

This is precisely why I am sure it doesn't work. I've tried it. I so wanted it to work and I gave it my every ounce of attention. It didn't work. So far, everyone who has ever told me they could dowse has failed. Miserably. Just like you do, Dell. You can't find a mistake with a dowsing rod or one of your overpriced snake oil boxes.

GD, your attitude towards those of us who have experience comes across as a bit egotistical, and self centered. ( If you can't learn to do it, nobody else can either?)   No no!    Dell

That's true, but a lame argument!  Much of the earths water you mention is not palatable or with heavy metals, chemicals, or high levels dangerous bacteria.  A good Dowser will tell you where to dig for good water, the depth, and the flow rate.    Dell

Go Up Go Down

My father and his father (back in the day) were in the water well digging business. I remember as a child being with my father in the back yard and he was telling me about the divining rod. We walked over to a neighbors yard and he cut a green Y from a willow tree. We went back to our yard and he held the ends of the the Y with his wrists up and thumbs out. I watched him keeping his hand still and parallel with the ground and watched as he walked across the yard and sure as I'm alive the point of the Y began to point down. He told me there was water there an he said that's how him and my grandfather found water. Could he be trying to trick me....sure...but I doubt it. Now we weren't looking for nazis or viet nam tunnels but I know what I saw.

So you'd be more than willing to demonstrate this so called experience under scientific conditions. Right?

No. Of course not. All of us skeptics watching you would upset the balance of your dowsing genes. You'd always have some excuse for why it only works for you in private. Of course, you could always show us your rooms full of billions of dollars worth of recovered treasure. That would go a long way towards proving that dowsing works.

But then, you can't. You can't prove that dowsing works. You can't show us a single item found only by dowsing it. That's the problem with you guys, Dell. You can only bluster and stamp your feet pointing in a skeptic's direction and crying, "Foul! It's all YOUR fault that nothing is working!"
