I put the GB in discrimination mode to see what it would do.  It performed as predicted by the owner's manual, accurately identifying a clad penny, clad nickle, clad dime, clad quarter, and all things iron and steel.  

But here is the kicker....it identifies a pull tab and a 14K ring as identical.  Same with a dime and a coke can.

That's right.   So just buy a $100 bounty hunter and be done with it.  You don't know if its a pull tab or a gold ring so save your money.  What's  the best detector?Huh???  One that's cheap and goes BEEP.
