Will be in AZ June 12-18 looking for fluorescent minerals. Building a short wave UV light for field work. Also interested in placer and hardrock gold.

OK so is that your introduction? You're not going to get many replies if you don't ask a question or tell people of what you have found. Posting photos is always a plus.

Coleman makes a hand carried, battery operated fluorescent camping light that will accept 12v ultraviolet bulbs. You can get the 12v bulbs from almost any lighting shop. Saves a lot of time and cost over building one.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

So are diamonds. In some parts of SA they would lock you up if you had to use one of them on the beach.

Is this a joke? any thing that is not raw material is available and in any quantity just don't go out looking for diamonds. I can because I'm licensed for it but you would not get one Km from the diamond fields.

Well panning and wedding rings aren't the same to me mate, mind you I don't see what could stop me from panning should I get the chance to do it  Kiss
