Just a Heads up.

The Feds are pushing the 1906 Antiquities law.  Their (Someone There) has interpreted that Meteorites fall under the Law. LOL!

They want all Meteors found on State and Federal Lands to be turned in and shipped off to God Knows ware!  They Claim the Smithsonian.

Unlike the Federal Lands, they belong to We The People.  LOL

Next there going to be declaring Rocks as a Antiquity!  Sense every thing on Earth originated from Space and all animals are made up of this stuff Are we Antiquities?

These folks have lost it!

If you can prove the location the meteorite was found they command higher prices.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Well, I don't know if he/she does or doesn't have a meteorite, it was my awkward way of asking for more info.  But, you are correct, in general I am skeptical, 300 wrongs in the last couple years to get one new "meteor-right".  If I had a meteorite for ever time someone said they had a meteorite and didn't, I'd have a lot more meteorites.

well I think I have one , it beeps when u run the detector over it and u can pick it up with a magnet,

Matter of fact thats how I found it, was cleaning up a pile of nails in a hole got done with it and laid the magnet down to cover up the hole and when i picked it back up there was this rock attached to it.

it's only 2 grams.

OK that's not correct for them to push that! If it was spotted by some one falling from the sky ,lets say two day's earlier and found six day's later that makes it 8 day's old it's hardly an antique.Heck there is food on the shelves of a store that is older!!!! :Smiley
