I'm telling you there Temp Hunting Shelters.     The ones here could even be called Blinds.

I'd buy the oven or even Chicken Coop explanation before I'd buy the hunting blind one.....But does that mean I don't have a way marker for a lost mine?   This area is supposed to be full of lost mines and hidden caches.  Angry

Wow, but wouldn't that be a long ways off when there are much closer lost mines and treasures?   The mountains I was hunting in are just full of lost gold and silver mines like the Lost Duppa

And that's DUPPA (as in the name of the man who suggested "Phoenix" for the name of what became Arizona's largest city), not DUPE-YA, as in the lost mine of a con man.

Maybe you can draw some parallels from this website:

Of particular interest is the section titled 'Cairns Deconstructed'.

Hobbyist, that's an interesting article.   This definitely are not cairns, though.   The construction is very deliberately done to create a dome-shaped hollow space that items can be placed into after construction is complete rather than piling stones on top of an object already in place.

By the way, here is a picture of the sentinel on the way to the area.   Sorry the picture is blurry and has the unexplained light streek into the chin, but Mrs BA took the pic while I was driving down the road at 60mph.   What's different about this head is that as you pass underneath the chin and look up towards the nose and eyebrows, you can actually see the nostrils.   What natural formation is going to have nostrils?

Have you checked to see if the Opening is Exposed to the Summer or Winter Equinox?

Could have been a Mini Pyramid built by Pigmy Indians Millions of Years ago.  Follow the Sun, Man! Follow the Sun!
