Go Up Go Down

A couple of years ago, I saw a big bottle of coins that some college student must have tossed change into all year and then, moving out, sat it out by a dumpster in my alley. Screech went my tires  Grin Just a little over $60. I call dumpsters 'resource centers'.  Sue

I can't see anyone getting into a hobby with a down economy unless they have secure financials already.  Only reason I'm looking intoit now is because I'm retiring from he Army at end of the month...need something to do!

BA, Not typical college students - I live a couple blocks from the Univ. and the Greeks have leased the houses all around so they have places to party. We've never had any problems - pretty good kids. Sure can be "generous" - esp moving  Smiley Can collectors like 'em - the kids separate the cans from other trash and hang the bags on the outsides of the dumpsters. Sue

Those are my kind of kids  Grin   So I guess you could say the coin jar was just some kid's way of cutting out the middle-man for the can collector.

Sue nice find! Gotta love that kind of cache out where you can see it  Grin

Heathen I hear ya, when I lived in Or for a few years I knew people that made a living off those cans I think. Always thought doing the camp host thing would be kinda cool.

The economy sure is a factor why folks are flocking to our hobby. BUT, it's with the hope of finding treasure for monetary gain, not so much for the hobby. That's why TV shows about Treasure(s) are so popular now.

FYI folks, if ya'll visit my new "free" Treasure Hunting website, then you too can share your treasure hunting adventures, expertise & friendship with others in the hobby.

So drop in, say hi in our guest-book & if ever in the area, call & we'll go dig in the dirt. Detecting

To find my website, go to profile & follow link

Good Hunting to all
