Apples and oranges, mate. The Ace 150 is a toy compared to the Minelab but bear in mind that the function of each is different by design.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

There is a lot of GREAT advice here! After 40 years of being a Detectorist, and selling many units, today's choices are easy!
Cost certainly is the thing that holds people back.... Consider $200 + for your purchase... Garrett Ace series, and Fisher F2 are super starters, and extra coils can be added if/when you are in need of them.
The BH Line is just fine. A Good used unit saves money... BUT with the Garrett and other transferrable warranties, just buy new! IF the hobby does not suit you, resale value will be there in the new/transferrable unit!
Remember...PRACTICE,and READ the manual a couple of times! then practice more. Bottle caps disappear!!!!...Good Luck!

I've been at this for about a month now.  I'm pulling a lot of clad out of the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk and helped a family recover a wedding ring with my Garrett Ace 350.  I'm very pleased with the A350 and ProPointer.

The wet sand is a different animal... not water, just wet sand.  Any tips would be much appreciated.

You have asked this more than once now and I just wonder if you have even bothered to use the search feature of this forum. This question has been discussed in dozens of topics now. Try it.
