i have a garrett pro pointer and it has recovered so many coins i can't believe it. When you have a hand full of dirt and still can't fine the coin because it is the color of the dirt it works well, also to dig through the dirt to pinpoint the exact find. I purchased mine through A&S detectors and he recommended this and the cost was better than most, i paid $119.00 plus about $6.00 shipping. I use it all the time especially when i dig a hole you can run it around the edges and see just where it is to dig further.

I'm all tapped out after my detector purchases and headphones and digging tools so I'm using the cheap cen tech probe from harbor freight, it works for now gets me an inch or so only been out three times with it so far but it's still working, I wouldn't say it's durable nor the best by far but if your on a budget or short of cash it's okay. I could see this getting broke easily if handled roughly or used as a prodding/digging tool, it'll do in a pinch and is cheap, until I can rake some more mad money I'm looking at the Pistol Probe and the Garrett Pro Pointer once I get some more cash.
