Go Up Go Down

I am struggling to decide which of the two units I want to purchase. I have never know or talked with anyone who has use one or has one.
I'm not looking for a unit that can find a sherman tank at 30 ft. which I would never dig up anyway.  Im looking for the best unit that I can pull behind my four wheeler, and locate objects at reasonable depth such as 15- 40 coins hidden in a cache as a example.   I dont know which unit can operate at a faster speed being pulled behind my four wheeler without losing depth or detection, or which one has the best stability for mineralization of the soils.  So many questions,.

Any one here have experience with either of the two units.  I would be happy to send along some other questions I have.   Kellyco who sells them are worthless, being they just want to sell them, which I understand.

Any insight would be helpful....

SG1 detech make a chest mounted machine that will do that job and they have two models with two options , they are the same people who make the butterfly coils and they start at around 1700 dollars, check out

Those machines also come with a 40" coil so it would be good for what you want

Hi Spanishgold,

I'm thinking about purchasing one of these too...  but have my doubts regarding mineralized soil... Pulse Star II has a good professonal reputation since many years and it seems that the new Lorenz Deepmax x5 and x6 detectors are giving good results... Any treasure hunter with some useful information?

I've got a better tool than a shovel.   I have a mini back hoe that you hook to your truck, or if you have a Polaris Razor or similar larger four wheeler.  It does all the work.  Sometimes you have to chain it to a tree to keep it in place because it moves with tough ground.  Some of the hard pan here in the desert where i hunt it almost worthless but then so is a shovel.

On private ground its a tough sell when they know you are going to dig up their property.  But then money talks and I just tell them just what if something is valuable where i dig.  my two box detector I was using i used a shovel a lot but did use the back hoe.

Go Up Go Down

I looked and looked on the internet but couldn't find any reviews other than those who sold it.  As a end user and treasure hunter I'll give it my honest review.  From all I could read using the 40 X 40 coil you really cant use a four wheeler to pull behind it.  From everything that I have read you have to go really slow like a slow walking pace.  Thats a little disappointing because I was hoping to use my four wheeler to cover a lot of ground and at walking speed with a 40 X 40 coil thats a lot of ground.  You can configure the optional loop for 1 X 3 which will cover 3 times the ground which might be better but you depth is the same as using the 40X 40 coil which is plenty unless you think that something is hidden really really deep which I have my doubts her out West.  Maybe in Europe or South America  but not her in my state according to my opinion.

I have a good plan this summer and I will post my opinion with the pros and cons.  There might be a chance I will be taking it over to England to some farms that my business partner family has as well as hit the neighboring farms which they think I could get permission in August.  That is where I think the depth would come in handy, but for what I am going to use it for here in my state it will be used a little differently.     Ill keep everyone in touch with a report.  The first thing I'll do is check the speed that I can go on my four wheeler then the minerals in the soil will be interesting as well  The other problem is sage brush and keeping the loop level at ground level but Ive got a proto type ideal than I am refining to overcome  that issue of sage brush and keeping the loop level as close to the ground.  If I just had more time without a job with lots of money in the bank to refine this thing down........

Spanishgold1, I have a suggestion: there are some owners of Pulse Star units who have videos on youtube. Maybe you could message them to ask for hints and specific questions?
