Go Up Go Down

I went out detecting yesterday as I did saturday, with the HF. Detector pretty much just seeing what it will do in different conditions. the area on Sat was pure sandy beach. and yesterday was highly ironized beach. After tuning the detector to this area I started detecting. I was only out a short peroid of time all together. However I did find a 24 crt earring back that was 4 inches under the sand. And what even impressed me more was that I found a fishing leader that was aprox 5 inches beneath the sand by a old tree on the beach, In the same hole with the leader was several broken pieces of broken porcelin ( which I forgot to include in the picture DOH!) You will see by the picture how small these items are. And for this cheapie detector to locate them under these conditions, I was very impressed! And its my first piece of gold for the season  Smiley So for yesterday I found the small peice of gold, 1 penny and the leader.and for Sat, I found the lighter and the interesting piece of plank that you see in the pic. cant wait to get back out!,,,,Best Wishes to All ,,,Rob

Thats fantastic Rob. Looks like it is well worth the money asked for it. It would be interesting to see what larger and smaller quality coils would do for it. Smiley

Thanks oRo & Bomber,
I dont know how much smaller I can get other than the earring back since it was pretty smashed up LOL, The Detector comes with a 10 inch coil that is changeable, So after a bit I will experment with different coils and see what the results are.
But as the old saying goes,, If it aint Broke DONT FIX IT ! Funny, I had to leave the area I was in Yesterday to many folks around and I was drawing attention, Esp when My detector went nuts for a non-ferrious hit and it was a rather large area of detection, But I have the exact area so I can return later ( preferably when the rain comes again so all the lookie loos, will be home and not where I want dig. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask , or send me a message, Best Wishes to All.. Rob

After you set it for the ground conditions does the needle stay at center well or does it drift as you walk around. Does the push of the red button set it back to zero?  Can you use ear phones with it and does it come with them?

Hey treasure hunter I was wondering if there was any bigger coils that would actually fit our new machines?? I think if we could get some new coils it wouldnt take much to make them fit. The plug is pretty much a standard plug.

Hey oro the needle does drift a little and you have to supply the ear phones. It actually says to use them to conserve battery power.

Hi oRo,
The needle does move slightly as you move, but that makes no diffrence, pushingthe red button after you get your beep, will indicate what type of item it is, press it again and it auto tunes back to zero. It doesnt come with head phones, But I recommend you get a pair with adjustable vol. there is a set of headphones at walmart for like 5.99 with adjustable vol. and they are made by Koss.( Did you get one of these yet? If not Harbor Fright has 2 web sites actually. If the store near you dont have them in stock you can have it shipped to the store near you,, try this link,

The store near me has a ton of them in stock, also you can get a coupon for 20% off to save a few bucks, and you can get a extended warrenty for around 10 bucks.
Best Wishes,,,,Rob
