Hate to say so, But I did!   LOL :Smiley

I know, I should listen to others Wise with more experience, but the marketing lingo just sucked me in.
If I can get two hours + out of the rechargeables, and 100 recharges, that will work for my evening hunts.
I just went to a big wholesale outlet and purchased two 40 packs of Duracell AA,
that will keep me in trouble Detecting for some time.  HH Robroy59

Robroy,  thanks for sharing your experience with the rechargeables.  I actually haven't used rechargables since the mid-80's when I bought a detector that had the charger built in.  Didn't much care for them then and they don't seem to have improved much.  It seemed like I was recharging as much as I was hunting, or more!  Thanks for letting us follow your adventure with you!   Great  Detecting

I've used just about every Rechargeable out there.

Ni Cads as Persnickety as they are , are still the best.

Treat them right and they last years.  Fully Chargeable.

NiMh Self Discharge.

Changeability diminishes in just a few months.

Li Ion Rechargeable start to self destruct the day they are put together.   Running them in Hot conditions Accelerates it.

I have found the best batteries to be rechargable LSD (low self-discharge) NiMH batteries like Eneloops

I use them with my Minelab Xterra 70 and Garrett Ace 250. They last so long, I'm not sure how many hours I get from a fresh charge. I usually just recharge them after several long hunts rather they need it or not.

They are perfect for spare batteries sitting in my tool box as they retain 85% of their charge even after a year. I can leave them in my detector for weeks and never have to worry if they lost their charge.

Rechargables all lose their charge faster when hot. I leave mine in the trunk of my car during the summer and they still keep their charge.

I need to check those out!

Last NiMh batteries I got was for my Makita Drill.   Damn things have lost it after just 6 months.   Need to charge them before every use and only last about 1/4 the time they use to.
