By the time I got out of the Army in 1968 most of the treasure mags were in full bloom so I had no problem getting them to read.  When I was a kid about the only place you could read the treasure stories were in the "Men's Adventure" magazines like Saga and Argosy on others like them!  Parents wouldn't let us read them because of the "risque" content and illustrations!   Seems we always managed to get our hands on one now and then anyway!   Great

Arfie, I remember when I was a kid, MAD magazine ran a spoof of those men's magazines.  I still remember the headline for one of the stories:

I KILLED A HUNDRED GERMAN SOLDIERS WITH JUST ONE HAND!
Where All Those One-Handed Germans Came From I'll Never Know!

You need to read how Long John aquired the lost treasure magazine.  They got drunk and drank into the early morning and when sobered up for 10$ long john owned Lost treasure,was a fasinating true read.
