I like 'em all but I can't say my feathers don't get a little ruffled at times by nails and pulltabs and junk. But that's all part of the deal huh! Tongue

Pull tabs and other detritus from the slobs of the world are indicators of human activity. Where there is human activity, there will always be lost items of value. They go hand in hand, as you so note. It is, indeed, all part of the deal.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Yeah GoldDigger1950, but don't you just hate it when you're in descrim mode and get a pull tab reading but just can't stand to pass it over just in case it's something of value (which sometimes it really is) and you dig anyway and it's really a pull tab! Dagnabbit! Grin

Discriminate mode? Never use it. I did everything and you're right about the trash sounds sometimes being real treasure.

I love it when that happens.

I have used discrimination mode unsatisfactorily. Maybe it's just my equipment but I always have this gut feeling that I'm leaving some real treasure behind  Cry so I usually hunt in all metal mode. Sorry I didn't mean to imply that I am fond of discrimination mode  Grin.

When you dig it all. you get so much junk that in a short time you get so tired that you quit digging pennies, I know i do anyway and that is not a good thing. Some good rings come in at pennies. On my MXT, even foil, if it is a good sound i dig but if broken sound i let it go. Good Luck  Dean

Go Up Go Down

Hi,
I have two suggestions for the next polls... (thanks for this one !)

1) what about meteorite hunters ?

2) what about people that simply want to "play" with the best detector ever built (i.e. the one they bought some days ago, with all these knobs or this large colour screen) ? I must admit this week end I was testing my Tejon with its new large DD coil. My only intention was to "play" with the machine (I know it takes many hours to get familiar with it). I was not disappointed. It found items so deep... that I decided to buy a new shovel. OK, mainly foil and pull tabs (and a strange 3 cm ring). But deep ! And I was happy for that reason ! What kind of hunter is the guy who can be happy when his new detector (or coil) allows him to find pulltabs where noone else could find them (except PI experts) ?

regards, Joe.
