Here is question regardless of what you search for. What fictional treasure movie inspired you as a kid? Huh?

Raiders of the lost Ark? National treasure? Seirra Madre? Cheesy

the old mummy movies were probly the first i saw were they were diggin up old stuff and treasure  but i think raiders of the lost ark and those type  probably had more impact on my inspiration .

For me it was the old bogart movie "Sierra Madre" and Gregory Peck in "Mc Kennas gold". Another movie "The Deep"

growing up on Indiana Jones had its obvious contributions, and more recently Sahara!
I wish they would make more of Cussler's books into movies!!

That was an enjoyable movie.

Clive was not happy with the movie Sarhara. I personally enjoyed it. He is not keen on making other moves because of it.

I do not know why he was not happy.

Hardluck,
thats unfortunate! i really enjoyed it as well, and its close to the top of my list for favorites.
i have not yet read the book, but have been reading Inca Gold, and it seems they parts were cast well.
id guess he would have been closely involved in the making, to avoid issues like that...guess it could be more of a relational issue with directors and all, who knows!

It was some Pirate movie made way back in the mid-1950's and I have no idea of the name of it or what the plot was now!  It was a good one, though!

None of the above tickled my pink.

Living in Tucson and being exposed to all the mines around did the trick.

Wandering out finding old mines with Tool and Dynamite in them gave me  a Wake up for sure.

Did you know you could by Dynamite by the stick as a kid back then?

Yep, $2.00 a stick plus required Caps per stick from Western Auto hardware.

Required Age, 14 or 16 years old.

I did learn about Metal Detectors about 1969 through magazines.

Does any of that Count?

Did you know , back then you could buy the makings for for stuff that  made Dynamite look like Firecrackers?

Do You Know that the Prescribed method back then to loose old Dynamite was to just Burn it.

With out the Primer Charge Dynamite is just a cool Orange Flame Spoof Stuff.

Now ya have to sighn about 12 times to buy a pint of Nitric Acid because it can make just about anything go Boom.
