The area outside the Malpais......definitely possible, although if the canyon is as described, it could easily be overlooked.----inside the Malpais, definitely no creek.

 Hello BA, I thought there was suppposed to be a creek bed relating to the Adams diggings ?
 If this is true then we can rule out the Malpais. Perhaps we should start a new thread on the Adams diggings if this is the case.

I ruled out the malpais for the Adams along time ago......BUT the malpais is a reference point for the search.  And you're right, we probably should start a separate thread on the Adams.     The malpais are too starkly beautiful (both intimidating and enticing) to encroach upon them with a tale that  is not directly related to them.
