Joined the forum a couple of weeks ago and forgot to say hi. Have been metal detecting on and off for a few years, but until recently I moved to a house built in the 1800's. I am using an old Garrett ADS MH7. Have found several coins and junk from the time period to get me really interested in the hobby again. Shortly will be upgrading to a Minelab Etrac. So just saying hi.

More the middle of the state..
Between Mt. Pleasant and Saginaw..

You are in a PRIME spot.
Some of the best detecting in the state is over there.

Not due to activity, but due to INACTIVITY (of detectorists)

The large influx of Union employees on the East side of the state ensured a large crop of retirees with disposable income for nice machines and NOTHING but free time.
The whole Eastern half pf the state was hammered MERCILESSLY from the 1970s to about 1995 or so.
You're lucky to find a Roosevelt dime on edge at 12" left here.

I am in mid-michigan as well.  It's disappointing to hear about the slim pickings that are left here.  Hopefully there is still enough left out there for us beginners.

Welcome from another Michigander Obie1!
