Forget it in SA they want to keep it all to them selves if you have the time and the money you will be able to get a license but from what I understand you will have to have a registered business that is why I have never been interested in trying to find gold to much red tape. Rather go to a place like Ghana and do your prospecting there.

What is it exactly that you need? cant you test with a gold ring? I guess that you could buy a nugget from one of the guys on the forum that could be your best bet.

actually, that's probably not a bad idea---although I'd recommend a couple of nuggets and a bit of fine gold.

I will no doubt first test with gold nuggets but need to do field testing to verify detection in minerilised soil (auto "background" adjustment). Must also confirm detection depth in actual conditions.
