hello xavier ,

there is more off time than 30 us ,

on my program , 200 hz is 5 mS cycle , so you want 5ms delay - 160us  on time .

hello 6666 ,

 ref :pins 4 and 8 , pin 4 is neg , but pin 8 on a 741 is no connection , pin 7 is + top rail

yes xavier , piezo sounder with built in driver could be used as a total replacement for the audio 555 at the end ,

but , the human ear can detect  pitch changes better than volume changes , the 555 is set up to increace pitch from a click to a tone with voltage change , which gives a varing note dependant on signal strength for target indication ,

also the peizo would be nearly allways on , my experiance is that a 12V sounder will sound from 3V upwards ,
think it would be less sensitive to target changes ,

only a thought.

Hi Dooley

Some how I thought that, that would be the reason for the 555 audio but that only daunt on me when  pressed the sent button LOL any how I'm about 3/4 way done with the PCB I'll post it as soon as I'm done so that you may have a look to see if I could have made any errors.

All the best

hello xavier ,

had a look at all 3 files and layout pic , very tidy pcb , looks very pro ,

tried to get my head round it , but ive done schematic's to strip board for years in my head and find pcb's hard to follow,

will have a sit down and a very good look at tomorrow , might help my brain if i do a component overlay on the pcb
to ease my brain strain .

oh , the delay and width of the 4538 are onboard , with those many turn pots .

other than that , cracking job ,nice.

Ha Ok I will change that no problem. I tried to keep the components as much as possible to the schematic but then not always easy. Ho just one thing is there any particular reason why you have five caps?

Till later
Xavier

hello xavier ,

the original design had something like 5000uf or so to stabalize the current draw fron the regulator , lucky really , as i had 5 mathched 1000uf caps in my box ,
so no other reason than that really.
