I want to build a PI metal detector.

I have already made Hammerhead II PI version of the PIC 12F683 microcontroller.

Andy Fedreova series Clone: Clone PI, ClonePI-2, ClonePI- W, ClonePI - AVR, Chance.

My choice is ClonePI - 2 / MOD.2 v1.41/. Reading the forums and opinions, and different versions of the detector have a question:

1. Power operational amplifiers /chips/ symmetrical +5 V,-5V, using LM 7660, LM7805,
LM 7905, as in the Hammerhead II and similarly Chance - or as it is in the "old versions" unbalanced power of weight?

2. What task TL431 in the Chance?

Please, your opinions and suggestions that will help me in achieving my goals.
I have to draw the whole circuit diagram and to the mounting plate /PCB/.

most impt in pi, is the ground penetration not air test. as pi is immune to heavily miniralized soil and discrimination is useless in pi.

It's not useless, Ram. It can and has been done. Requiring a computer, it is processor intensive and very difficult to accomplish.
