The LM358 as it is used in this circuit is not something you can substitute. It has a unique frequency response.

This is not a new construction. This machine was working fine and then failed. It is a repair.

Japanese the TL071 is a no no I tried it and the result was less than poor from what I can gather it's the slew rate that's all wrong as for the other chips that you mentioned I have not looked at the data sheet nor did I try them but I will download the data sheet on them and do a comparison.

Hi xavier
If you focus on slew rate  you have no choice, but one is LM318.

You'd be wasting time over ordering 100 of the real thing for $16.00 mate. Postage paid. I have reviewed every substitute and in this circuit, there is no substitute that will work properly.

Yes quite right I book marked that link that you gave me just did not have the time to look at it yet LOL you say 100 for $16.00 that's what I pay for two over here . I did a test using the same type of plug on my development detector which is the same as the problem child and guess what same problem so now what? these connectors are gold plated there should be a better not a worst.
