Hope the shoulder gets to feeling better Gramps. I mostly went out just to get in the woods more than anything. Just look at it this way the longer you wait the higher the price of gold will be Smiley   Grin

OOPS I screwed up it was Hobbyist who gave me the suggestion to tie-off my ladder, sorry bout that guy.  I'm sure Idaho would have said something similar if it had come to mind.

Idaho, from the looks of the pictures it looks like a great place. I was out there last summer in the Ruby Valley of Montana then over in the bitterroot range. Found 3 small nuggets total of 2.83 dwt. Flew back with 16 lb of concentrate that I have yet to go through. I did one pan and came up with one small flake and some very fine color. I started building a shaker table for the rest but put it on hold because it was getting too complex. I guess I'll get around to panning them out sometime. gambol

Overall it was a great trip, perfect weather, beautiful terrain and friendly people. I'm looking forward to doing it again soon.

Sure would Gramps Smiley my friends tell me as far as help I'm full of it...  Grin

Gambol, it is pretty up there. This year the green lasted especially long, usually it's dry by the end of June. I like it cause it's too rough for most folks so it's quiet. I had to move some big rocks that had fallen out of the road to get through. Bet it was fun to find those nuggets, always love to see yellow in the pan. I built a seperator using corrugated drain pipe cut in half and recycle water with a small pond pump. Just put the concentrates in at the top and wait for the water to wash away the waste. Cost was under 30$ and 1/2 day to build, but the savings to my back is priceless  Grin
