Looks like it will be fun once you get your support team in place.

Go Up Go Down

sorry about the spelling error, i was trying to get them up there before my computer died, and apperently made it look like i didn't watch sesame street when i was a kid
it was a little eery just popping my torso in, the majority of rock in the area is of sand stone and a shale rock that also appears to be sandstone, and the walls of the inside made me questions it's structural integrity a bit.  there are no wood cross sections or support beams from what i can tell, it appears to be supporting its own weight.  i was talking to an older gentleman yesterday in a small town to the Northwest of the mine i found, and he told me that way back in the day there used to be a small town back up in this small canyon, and that no one even remebers it was there.  so yesterday on my way home i stopped by ther and hiked a little ways in.  the area was completely over grown, and there appeared to be no visible structure remenants or foundations anywhere.  when i got done peeking my head into the mine today i started heading back to my truck and decided to venture to the east a couple hundred yards.  on the surface i found a bucket full of bullet holes that said; "Pacific" on it, and that was the only part stil eligible, however being next to railroad tracks and mining areas, i'm sure it was once used for the railroad. i found part of an old stove, pans, and some old bottles.

i ventured on and didn't find much and returned to the place where the pans and stove were, and realized the shape of the terrain resembled a trash dump sight of sorts.  i dug a small ten inch diameter hole and went to a depth of about ten to eleven inch hole and found jar pieces, rusted metal objects, the sole of an old cowboy boot, and bottle pieces,

Sounds like a lot of the areas we detect around here (as far as no visible foundations).....since not many people know the place even existed, you might turn up some really nice finds.

Very Nice pic's!!!  and interesting structure , the wall on the right hand side seems to have two layer , lighter colour on the bottom. It also  looks like a rock wall built by Axtec! Good luck and go safe inside the mine, best of luck with it... Cool
