This accidental discovery may spell good news for us all. A component of corn starch was found to have the ability to isolate gold.

Here's hoping we can see the end of using hazardous substances to get the gold. Smiley

OK well I don't have the time right now to read this article but I must say that this will be a blessing for us all, not only for the gold refinery but for many other applications such as chrome, and silver or gold plating. When do they hope to have this on the market?    I want it LOL

It looks like a hard to do procedure though. Very complex but with the price of gold, it's doable. The yield will no doubt be much less for the energy expended. Time will tell.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Yes, Just Chlorine.    You can use laundry type if needed it takes more.   Sodium Hydroxide.

How about Toilet Bowl Cleaner?   Most of that is just Hydrochloric  or Muriatic Acid.

Well I can get Hydrochloric acid and I could make it too if I still had all my chemistry goodies.
