I have looked at so many detectors over the past few days that they are all starting to look the same.  I will double check those though.  I would like one with gold in mind, thats easy to use...

Well Matt I have the MXT300 , the GMT Goldmaster and The MXT Pro, The GMT will find specks as small as
A 1/10 of a grain, The MXT has the same insides as the GMT but the MXT Runs at 14.7Khz and the GMT runs at
48Khz,  The MXTs will handle slightly hotter ground due to its lower frequency, and there are 16 coils for the MXT
So you can set it up to suit the job in hand, also you have the choice of a true multi-Purpose machine with a dedicated
Prospecting mod which is hard to beat.

I will send you a link where you can get all the info in one Basket, I sold all my other detectors when I got my machines,
Read down the list and you will see why I went with the MXTs, It will find tiny gold  down to a 3rd of a grain, it will give
you a ground read out which shows the tracking, it will show you the Iron readout the Depth, and the VDI numbers=
ID's for targets and alot more.

So I join the GPAA or one of the local groups pay my dues then I'm free to work the claim right?  To what scale can I or are people working these claims?   Are people out there with heavy equipment or is it mostly gold pans, sluice boxes and metal detectors?

Mate, don't over analyze this. The claims are open to you for inspection on Google Earth once you get your Mining Guide. The rules are in there. You cannot, for example, bring friends to your claim. Only family. You are free to work the claim. Due to the laws of mining rights, you are required, not requested, to fill out a form stating what you have done so they can show the claim has been worked.

If you don't need the "free" gifts that come with a purchase, try

. I've found that they are much easier to get the cost of those gifts deducted from the price. Kellyco's standard reply is "Those gifts are free so if you don't want them the price is still the same." Notwithstanding that, I've always found Kellyco's after-sales service to be outstanding.
