Hi Hardluc,
 thanks for the speedy and concise reply, I agree with you 100%. Fund raising is essential for research and publishing as we all know, but that evidence for the tomb was as bent as the back leg of a dog.
   None the less, this is a great web-site for all who are interested in history ,archeology or just messing around with their metal detectors (like myself).
   There was a Roman full-face bronze mask unearthed by a man with a detector here in England , it was put up for auction with a ?300,00 expected price tag...... last week it fetched two and a half million pounds sterling !!!.
 now thats a result.
         Great site,        Fredio. Detecting

Hello fredio

I cannot imagine why the Government did not opt to purchase that wonderful item and put in a museum?

Items like that are of culture interest are they not?

It would be sad to see it sent to a private collection and perhaps never see the light of day.

However I think the treasure trove system has served the finder well in this case.

Hardluck

Hello Fredio and Hardluck

I finally found the personal mail address of the DRAC regional curator (Jean-Pierre Giraud) Ben Hammott met twice. I will try to send him an email asking for its position on this matter, do you have any comments or suggestions about questions to ask, I'm going to invite him to read the contents of the Rennes-le-Ch?teau on the website "Thunting.com. That It Is not sure this Man Can we answer, but you can always try. Waiting for your opinions and comments first before sending this mail.

Kind regards

Luc

Greetings Luc, Hardluck, and Fredio

Thanks for sharing the link Fredio, it was very interesting.

If Ben H is as popular opinion seems, only a schyster, it's a huge disappointment. Not so much because of the discovery but the bad connotations that go with a forgery. It places an aura of falsehood on a place which still could hold many secrets. The mystery remains but now with a taint of suspicion.

Who's idea was the NDA is my question? The DRAC or BH? Was there any hard evidence to support a find? Was there ever any official meetings or just photo ops?

That video is incredible, how could anyone not think people wouldn't notice the changes in the tomb? If you went to all that trouble to create it wouldn't you compare the two before releasing it? I'm just having trouble imagining such a stupid error.

Hi Luc,
     The only only solution to  the photographs of the man in question and the DRAC? officials is Ben has assured them that any publicity would enhance the tourist trade.  The question I would like to ask ...."is the system in France similar to those of England where a site of this importance would be reported to the 'archeological finds department' and recorded.
  If this is so, can they confirm this".
  A simple 'yes' or 'no' will do.
                    Kind Regards, Fredio Sad.

Hello All

Hello Luc Thank you for your offer.

Fredio has asked an interesting question as it helps understands the protocols of reporting such a find in France.

The only question I can think of is to ask him was there any other evidence presented to DRAC other than what has been publicized?

Hello Fredio Idaho Jones and HardLuck

I'm going to summarize your comments and send them to the Drac, I give them to you for verification before.

One thing nagging me in mind, why Ben Hammott he took the risk of contacting the DRAC, and inform them of his discovery, knowing that he had interfered with the law and excavated a site where all searches are prohibited.

If he has invented everything, he did not need to contact the DRAC, knowing that the professionals working within it have probably asked him specific and embarrassing questions.

For now let's see if Jean-Pierre Giraud would be pleased to answer our questions, it is less certain. As they say in France "Hope Makes live.

Kind regards

Luc

Since I read these lines about a possible forgery, I study the documents in my possession, especially the picture from the video showing all of the grave,
{alt}

I analyzed the codex book lying on the chest near the assumed body. Excluding this codex has a corner outside leaving a shadow on the side of the chest. There is also an unidentified object near this book.
{alt}

But strangely the shadow and the object in question no longer appear on the photo of the codex on the website of Ben Hammott or in the uncensored photos from a PDF document purchased from the author.
{alt}{alt}

Strange No.

Thinking on the two images from the "tomb", in the first video the tomb is more sparce of artifacts and overall cleaner compared to the second video. Many of the comments I read were sceptical of the shrouds saying they looked to new.

So what we possibly have is an attempt to hollywoodize the find into looking more real. That's with the assumption that the original  find wasn't simple a movie set to begin with. It wouldn't be the first time someone spruced up a site to make it more filmworthy.

IF (note big if) Sauniere re-entombed the body it's only been there in that location 150ish years. It's entirely possible he could have had new shrouds made at the time.

Another thought is that BH actually explored the tomb and moved some objects. This seems a stretch but still possible.

Just entertaining all the possibilities, I'm interested to hear what Luc finds out. That will hopefully add some weight to the scales one way or another.

Hello all

Hello, today I had undertaken to begin drafting the text that I had sent to Mr.Giraud (DRAC), when during my research for a complete statement, I found a site (

) in which the last paragraph it is stated that Mr. Giraud no longer works for DRAC. Is it useful to send a mail service where the names of any other person is known.
I still invite you to read these lines and if you are interested follow the links in the footer.

Tell me also if you think it is wise to send a message to Drac.

Thank you in advance

Luc
