Good luck, Hardluck.     All I have to say is history is full of examples of where government run amok has led to otherwise upstanding citizens becoming criminals (sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly).

I hope you get the opportunity to complete your project before the government finds a way to shut you down permamently

 Police

Always find your pirates treasure ship in private... Never advertise...

If you seel your coins intact they will identify themselves and trace back to you. Smelt the gold and sell a bars only.

Naval archeology is your worst nightmare as they will suck any project dry of resources.

Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me
Yo ho yo ho keep all the gold for free...

 Great

Thanks for the "good advice". Greed, greed and more greed. Greed is everywhere, the governments, the archaeologists, the politicians and the treasure hunters.

Greed is what makes the world go round.

So the greed is part of the equation. It needs to be reckoned with, as much as the hurricanes that might disrupt a salvage season, or a malfunctioning piece of equipment.

A well planned project takes all factors in account.

Well planned projects have a great probability of success.

The attached picture shows a sword that I recovered from a shipwreck that sank in 1700. This is close to the date when Henry Morgan's flagship, the Oxford blew up.

What would the value of this sword be if it had been found on the Oxford? Henry Morgan's own sword?
