Homie, you are right in some ways about the battering and no money.... But some of the sites I have detected here in SA are not that old, and belonged to miners who get paid well.... It is just that SA do not lose money so much as they do in the US (at least to what I see in the movies)  Funny Funny

Pgill, good job on the Sad iron. I have one like it just waiting for a handle. The original handle on mine is rusted away so far that only two thin tabs of the original metal remain. I figure I'll have to braze the joint there because the rest is cast.

Hi Gambol,

The iron looks better in real life, for some reason the photo makes the handle look higher and bigger.... guess it was the angle the photo was taken  Great I used electric welding which worked great... the base of mine is also cast, but I am only using as an ornament  Shocked

To weld cast-iron is not a big deal all you have to do is get a cast-iron welding rod then heat the part that you want to weld till it's red hot then weld. Allow to cool slowly and you'll have a good weld.

AntiFreeze!   That's what's cool about Moon Shine.   You can put it in CoolAid, Soda, Coffee, Tea, Plain Ol Water and None of it will ever Freeze say you don't let it go below -100F.
