Too bad there are no "good" politicians. Someone who really cared about what is right and wrong, fair and equitable, etc. There is no way we will ever come back as a country here in the US when we work four to eight years in one direction and then the next four to eight years we work the other direction. I dare say: (ducking to avoid thrown objects) if we had a benevolent (hope I used the right word, lol) dictator or monarch, we would be far better off.

The crime in SA is ridiculous No no!

we all know of someone who has been hijacked, in fact one friend of mine has been hijacked once while his wife has been hijacked 3 times No no!

most of us have had a break-in to our houses, or car theft at some stage.... I even had a pair of socks stolen off the wash-line Idiot

murders and rape is totally out of control Cry

Two problems with benevolent dictators/monarchs:
1) they are invariably followed by non-benevolent dictators/monarchs
2) they do nothing to address the root problem which is individual self-discipline, self-respect, and self-reliance tempered by the rule of a law that applies equally to all.

Understanding the difference between rights and privileges and realizing that privileges are earned at a cost would be more beneficial. What is truly needed is lessons in Civics and Civil behavior...... including true respect is earned and honor comes from leading honorable lives. Disrespecting an individual or group before they have proven themselves worthy of the disrespect is dishonorable behavior.
